Privacy Policy

Information We Process
We process your account details, the content you submit to our preparation tools, generated feedback, usage history, and billing status. For voice interviews, your microphone audio is sent to OpenAI to conduct the conversation. JobHackAI stores text transcripts, feedback, the role and job context you provide, and session details such as timing and completion status. JobHackAI does not save a raw audio recording of the interview.
We use Cloudflare to host the service and store application data, Firebase for account authentication, Stripe for payments, and OpenAI for AI processing. These providers may process information in the United States and other countries. We do not promise that all processing takes place in one country.
Data Retention & Deletion
Tool Content and History
Our standard retention period for tool content is 90 days. Content becomes eligible for removal when that period ends, and scheduled cleanup removes expired content in batches, subject to the exceptions below. This is separate from the 90-day validity of purchased voice-session credits.
- Voice interviews: transcripts, feedback and supplied role/job context are removed after 90 days. If you no longer have voice access, we may keep a limited record of your most recent completed interview, such as its date, duration and completion status, to show that the report has expired.
- Resume uploads: a resume that you recently reused, updated, or obtained new feedback for is retained until it has been inactive for 90 days. Feedback and saved progress snapshots have their own 90-day retention periods.
- Pinned LinkedIn results: results you pin are retained until you delete them or unpin them and they meet the normal age limit.
- Other tool history: question sets, typed interviews, cover letters and saved role-usage history are removed after 90 days.
Use a tool's History controls to delete supported records sooner. For content without an individual delete control, or if deletion fails, contact privacy@jobhackai.io.
Account Retention After Cancellation
If you cancel your subscription, your account will remain available so you can return later and renew without starting over. Your account may remain inactive until you log in again.
Inactive Account Cleanup (24 Months)
To reduce long-term retention of personal data, we clean up accounts that are inactive. If you have no active subscription and your account has had no login or tool activity for 24 months, we will delete or de-identify personal data associated with the account, including account profile information and any remaining stored content.
Records We May Keep Longer
Even if runs, content, or account data are deleted, we may retain limited records for legitimate business and legal purposes, including:
- Invoices and billing records (for accounting/tax and compliance).
- Security, fraud, and abuse-prevention records (for example, to protect the Service and enforce one-trial-per-user rules).
- Records needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Deletion Requests
You may request deletion of your personal data. When we receive a verified deletion request, we will delete or de-identify personal data associated with your account except where we must retain certain records for legal obligations, billing/tax, security, and fraud/abuse prevention.
Your Privacy Rights & Choices
Use of Personal Information
JobHackAI does not sell your personal information. We use the service providers described in this policy to deliver the service and, with your analytics choice, understand its use and marketing performance.
Access, Export, and Deletion
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request:
- Access to personal information we hold about you
- A copy/export of your data (data portability)
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion of your personal information (subject to legal and security exceptions)
- Restriction of processing or objection to certain processing (where applicable)
EEA/UK Users
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
How to Exercise Your Rights
You can manage your data directly from your Account Settings > Privacy & Data section:
- Export: Use the Download My Data button for an export of available account and tool data, including retained voice content and campaign attribution. Content already deleted cannot be restored by an export. Contact us if information you need is missing.
- Deletion: Use the Delete Account button to permanently delete your account and all associated personal data, subject to billing/tax and security/abuse-prevention exceptions.
Fraud & Abuse Prevention
We process and retain limited information to protect JobHackAI and our users from fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use. For example, to enforce a one-time free trial, we may retain a one-way hashed version of a normalized email address (e.g., lowercased and trimmed) that indicates a trial has been used. This hash is used only for fraud/abuse prevention and is not used for marketing. We may also retain limited billing identifiers (such as a Stripe customer reference) and security logs for similar purposes.
Payments (Stripe)
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Stripe handles payment card data and related compliance obligations. We may receive limited billing-related details such as subscription status and payment confirmations.
AI Processing (OpenAI)
We send the inputs needed for a feature to OpenAI to generate its response. We do not use your tool content to train our own AI models. OpenAI's published API policy says API content is not used for model training by default unless the customer opts in.
Provider processing and retention are separate from your JobHackAI history. OpenAI may retain API data for abuse monitoring and other purposes described in its data controls documentation. We do not promise zero retention by our providers.
Optional Analytics and Marketing Measurement
If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand visits, tool interactions and the performance of our marketing. This data can include browser or account identifiers, page and event information, campaign tags, and purchase or refund amounts. It is not necessarily anonymous.
We can associate a consented visit from a blog, social post or other campaign with signup, checkout and collected payments. Missing campaign information remains unattributed. Campaign context is kept for up to 90 days; required billing records are retained separately. Withdrawing analytics consent stops future optional tracking and removes our stored campaign attribution when your choice is saved to your account. It does not reverse earlier events already sent to providers.
Clarity provides session replay and heatmaps of page interactions. Private tool and account content is masked in new recordings. We use these recordings to improve usability. For Microsoft's handling of information, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Google's processing is described in its Privacy Policy.
You can change your choice on our Cookie Policy page or in Account Settings. Optional analytics is not required to use the service.
